Holy Entrepreneurs

Is it possible in the modern world to conduct business in such a way that it brings not only profit, but also spiritual benefit - and does this not contradict the very nature of entrepreneurship? The film is dedicated to the phenomenon of Russian Orthodox entrepreneurship - a class that not only developed the economy, but shaped Russia as a cultural and spiritual project: it built churches and hospitals, opened schools and museums, supported science and art. At the center of the story are 33 holy entrepreneurs glorified by the Russian Orthodox Church. Through their destinies, the paradox of “holy business” is revealed: people engaged in trade and production managed to turn work into service to God and neighbor, and wealth into an instrument of mercy. Particular attention is paid to those who accepted the crown of martyrdom for faith and fidelity to principles: Ioann Letnikov, Vasily Ivanov, Jacob Blatov and others. The film builds historical continuity: from the lives of saints - to the traditions of pre-revolutionary philanthropists (Tretyakovs, Bakhrushins, Morozovs), whose actions were dictated not by vanity, but by duty to the Fatherland, and then - to modern entrepreneurs who are reviving these moral guidelines.
