Les Miserables
Jean Valjean, once convicted of stealing a loaf of bread, escapes from hard labor. He tries his best to become a worthy person, although it is difficult in a world where injustice and revenge reign. One day he achieves almost everything he could dream of: he receives the position of mayor and finds a family, taking in Cosette, the daughter of a deceased tramp. But Inspector Javert, who is dissatisfied with this turn of fate for his former prisoner and dreams of putting him in prison forever, does not allow him to live peacefully and take care of the girl.
